What causes periosteal inflammation?

Restoring hope, restoring health.
Periosteitis is also known as periostitis, generally divided into stress periostitis and infectious periostitis, the causes of which are different.
1. Stress periostitis
Stress periostitis may be caused by factors such as less exercise at ordinary times, poor coordination of limbs, incorrect movements during exercise, short-term intense exercise, etc., due to the muscle in a tense state for a long time during exercise, resulting in repeated increases in external forces on bones and muscles, causing tears and hematomas in periosteum and periosteal vessels.
2. Infectious periostitis
Infectious periostitis may be caused by skin trauma. After the skin site is injured, the pathogen will enter the body through the wound and spread to the periosteum site with blood, resulting in periostitis.
