Is pathological fracture bone cancer?

Empathy in care, excellence in medicine.
Pathological fractures are not necessarily bone cancer.
Pathological fractures are fractures of bones that occur when no significant or only slight external forces are applied to the bones. They occur for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to, osteoporosis, endocrine metabolic diseases, non-neoplastic diseases such as osteogenesis incomplete, bone cysts, eosinophilic granulomas, and neoplastic diseases such as giant cell tumors of bone, ostesarcomas, and secondary bone metastases.
Although bone cancer (i.e., malignant bone tumors) may cause pathological fractures, not all pathological fractures are caused by bone cancer. In fact, non-neoplastic diseases such as osteoporosis are more common causes of pathological fractures.
