What is a meningioma?

Meningioma is a tumor originating from arachnoid cap cells.

Meningioma occurs in the convex surface of the cerebral hemisphere, skull base, parasellar region, etc. The specific etiology is not clear, and generally ionizing radiation, estrogen level disorders, genetic factors and other factors. Clinically, meningioma is divided into three levels, namely benign meningioma, atypical meningioma, anaplastic or malignant meningioma.

Meningioma usually has no obvious symptoms in the early stage, with the development of the disease, may appear headache, nausea and vomiting, patients with abnormal symptoms should seek medical attention promptly.
