Syphilis can be divided into three stages, namely primary syphilis, secondary syphilis and tertiary syphilis. It is a progressive course. The incubation period of primary syphilis, that is, symptoms after infection with Treponema pallidum, usually shows hard chancre at the contact site in 2-6 weeks. If primary syphilis is not effectively treated, it will develop into secondary syphilis after 1-3 months. Therefore, the incubation period of secondary syphilis is usually 1-3 months or about 2 months, and may show a rash of secondary syphilis. If secondary syphilis is not effectively treated, it will slowly heal. However, this self-healing is false, and Treponema pallidum will further erode the body and develop into tertiary syphilis. Tertiary syphilis is relatively severe, and after the disease develops, it will show lesions such as skin and mucous membrane ulcers, bone syphilis, nervous system and cardiovascular syphilis. Generally, Treponema pallidum has been latent for 10 years, 20 years, and even cardiovascular syphilis or neurosyphilis occurs after 50 years. Therefore, the incubation period still needs to be judged according to different conditions.
