How is the tumor graded?

Building bridges to better health.
The grading of tumors is determined based on indicators such as the degree of differentiation, atypia and mitosis of tumor cells.
1. A
well-differentiated tumor has a cell morphology and tissue structure similar to the original tissue, and is usually less malignant; For poorly differentiated tumors, the cell morphology and tissue structure are quite different from the original tissue, and the malignancy is often higher.
2. Heterotypic heteromorphism
refers to the difference between tumor cells and normal cells in morphology and structure. The greater the heteromorphism, the more obvious the malignant characteristics of tumor cells.
3. The
number of mitotic figures reflects the proliferation activity of tumor cells. High mitotic figures usually indicate active tumor growth and higher malignant degree
. However, it should be noted that tumor grading is not the only indicator to judge the malignant degree and prognosis of tumors, but also needs to be evaluated in combination with tumor type, clinical stage, overall condition and other factors.
