Manifestations of high intestinal obstruction

Building a healthier future, together.
The symptoms of high intestinal obstruction include vomiting early and frequently, abdominal pain is more severe, abdominal distension is relatively mild, etc.
1. Vomiting occurs early and frequently because
the contents of stomach and duodenum are more likely to reflux when high intestinal obstruction occurs, resulting in vomiting occurring earlier and more severely.
2. Abdominal pain is more severe.
The intestinal tract above the obstruction has strong peristalsis to overcome obstruction, which will cause paroxysmal colic. The pain is usually more severe and unbearable.
3. Abdominal distension is relatively mild.
Although there is obstruction, due to the limited storage capacity of high small intestine, the accumulation of gas and liquid is relatively small, so the degree of abdominal distension may not be as obvious as low intestinal obstruction at the beginning, but as the disease progresses, abdominal distension will gradually worsen.
If the above symptoms occur, patients should go to the gastrointestinal surgery department of the hospital as soon as possible.
