Liver tumor 11 cm, but alpha-fetoprotein normal is how to return a responsibility

Passionate about your health journey.
Liver tumor 11 cm but alpha-fetoprotein is normal, generally related to tumor type, tumor differentiation, tumor growth stage and other factors.
1, tumor type
not all liver tumors will produce alpha-fetoprotein. For example, benign tumors such as liver hemangioma may not cause significant increase in alpha-fetoprotein levels.
2, tumor differentiation
If liver cancer is malignant, i.e., liver cancer, due to its different degree of differentiation, its ability to produce alpha-fetoprotein is also different. Highly differentiated liver cancer cells may produce less alpha-fetoprotein, while poorly differentiated or undifferentiated liver cancer cells may produce more alpha-fetoprotein.
3, tumor growth stage
alpha-fetoprotein levels may change at different stages of tumor growth. For example, in the late stage of tumor, although the tumor size is large, due to the heterogeneity of tumor cells, alpha-fetoprotein levels may not be significantly increased.
