What's with the vertical lines on your nails?

Vertical striations on nails are mostly normal. Normal is an appearance due to local poor blood circulation or aging skin. If vertical striations are more frequent, especially in the middle of the nail plate, it may be due to damage to the nail matrix or other causes of nail dystrophy.
