How long can gestational diabetes resume normal diet after childbirth

Restoring balance, restoring life.
GDM is a type of diabetes mellitus that occurs during pregnancy. GDM patients can return to normal diet in 2-12 weeks after delivery, and should be judged according to factors such as blood glucose level before pregnancy and blood glucose control during pregnancy.
GDM is caused by abnormal maternal glucose metabolism after pregnancy. If the patient has normal glucose metabolism before pregnancy, blood glucose fluctuation is small, blood glucose control during pregnancy is relatively stable, and blood glucose level recovers relatively quickly after delivery, generally 2-4 weeks can return to normal diet. If the patient has large blood glucose fluctuation before pregnancy, or blood glucose level during pregnancy is not well controlled, the recovery speed of blood glucose level after delivery is relatively slow, and it takes 6-12 weeks to return to normal diet.
Patients should adjust their dietary structure reasonably at ordinary times, and take a light and digestible diet as the main factor, which is conducive to recovery of the disease.
