What causes hypoxia?

The body draws oxygen from the air and transports it to all tissues and organs through hemoglobin. Hypoxia occurs if the patient does not receive enough oxygen from the air, which is more common in patients with chronic pulmonary obstructive disease, high altitude, carbon monoxide poisoning.
