Is phyllodes tumor serious?

Restoring health, one step at a time.
Phyllodes are normally benign lesions, not very serious. Phyllodes are tumors that originate in mesenchymal tissue and are classified as benign, borderline, or malignant. Phyllodes are bidirectionally differentiated tumors that resemble fibroadenomas and are characterized by a lobular structure with two layers of epithelial fissures and abundant stromal cells distributed around them. Phyllodes can recur frequently in a few patients, and can also form hamartoma and metastasis in a few patients. Phyllodes may exhibit sarcomatous features, ranging from mild to marked heteromorphism depending on the mesenchymal composition. Phyllodes may exhibit morphologic features ranging from fibroadenoma to simple stromal sarcoma. The above regimens are for reference only. Please use specific drugs under the guidance of a professional doctor.
