Are pancreatic tail tumors mostly benign?

Pancreatic tumors can be divided into benign and malignant types. Pancreatic tail tumors include islet cell tumor, fibroma, and lipoma. Imaging and blood tumor markers are needed to determine the nature of the tumor. Malignant tumors may grow faster. If they are accompanied by elevated blood tumor markers, such as carbohydrate antigens and carcinoembryonic antigens, they should be alert to pancreatic cancer. If necessary, biopsy of the tumor or puncture through ultrasound gastroscopy should be performed to confirm the pathological diagnosis. For pancreatic cancer diagnosed, treatment should also be selected according to the stage of the tumor.
