What does HPV-HR mean?

HPV is one of the most common types of HPV in the human body. It is divided into high-risk and low-risk types. High-risk types of HPV are associated with many cancers, mainly cervical cancer. When the test results show HPV-HR positive, it means that the person tested is infected with high-risk types of HPV, which may increase the risk of cervical cancer and other gynecological cancers.

It should be noted that long-term high-risk HPV infection is one of the main risk factors for cervical cancer, but it does not mean that HPV infection will definitely develop cervical cancer. Usually through active treatment, infection can be controlled, so if HPV-HR positive, it is recommended that patients seek medical attention promptly.
