How to determine if scoliosis

Guiding you to a healthier tomorrow.
Scoliosis can be judged by observation of appearance, examination of spinous processes, X-ray examination, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), CT examination, etc. Scoliosis can be judged by the following methods: 1. Observation of appearance: Take off your shirt, face the mirror, observe whether your shoulders are level, whether your shoulder blades are symmetrical, whether your waist is symmetrical, and whether your hips are level. If there is scoliosis, there will be high appearance abnormalities such as shoulder height, bilateral scapula asymmetry, bilateral lumbar depression asymmetry, bilateral hip inequality. 2. Check the spinous process: Let the examinee take a standing position, hands naturally droop, observe whether the spinous process is in a straight line. Then use the index finger and middle finger to draw along the spinous process from top to bottom, observe whether there is deviation. If scoliosis is present, the spinous process deviates from the midline. 3. X-ray: This is the most common method of diagnosing scoliosis. X-ray can show the whole spine, including the degree, location, level, rotation, etc. of scoliosis. It can also evaluate the flexibility and stability of the spine. 4. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI): CT: If you need to understand the bony structure of the spine, such as vertebral bodies, pedicles, etc., CT examination can help doctors make a more accurate diagnosis. It is important to note that scoliosis diagnosis requires a combination of factors, including appearance, physical signs, X-rays, etc. If scoliosis is suspected, seek medical attention for early diagnosis and treatment.
