Nail exfoliation is associated with malnutrition and is also secondary to syphilis, psoriasis, eczema, and fungal infections. onychomycosis is only associated with fungal infections. Nail exfoliation caused by fungal infections is not much different from onychomycosis. Nail exfoliation can also be induced without timely treatment.
