Cervical erosion generally refers to cervical columnar epithelium ectopic, cervical columnar epithelium ectopic is a normal physiological change, is not related to changes in estrogen levels.
When the estrogen level in women is relatively high, the columnar epithelium will be transformed into squamous epithelium, and expand outward, occupying part of the vagina, showing cervical columnar epithelium ectopic, hormone levels can return to normal. Therefore, cervical columnar epithelium ectopic usually occurs during menstruation and pregnancy, belonging to normal physiological phenomena. When the estrogen level in the postmenopausal body is low, cervical columnar epithelium ectopic will not occur under normal circumstances.
