Capsule gastroscope harm

Passionate about making a difference.
Capsule gastroscopy is to swallow a capsule-like endoscope, under the action of external magnetic field, to observe whether there is any lesion in the stomach. Capsule gastroscopy is generally safe, but for patients with intestinal obstruction, that is, patients with gastrointestinal stenosis, capsule endoscopy cannot be lowered, so it may cause stagnation, which is called capsule retention. If the capsule endoscopy is not discharged within 2 weeks, it will show capsule retention. For normal people, the possibility of capsule retention is almost equal to zero. once capsule retention is shown, it indicates that there may be stenotic lesions in the body. Further examination such as enteroscopy may be required to clarify the lesions, and capsule removal may be required. In severe cases, surgery may be required to remove the capsule. In addition, capsule gastroscopy is relatively safe. Capsule endoscopy is not recommended for patients with pacemakers, because there are pacemakers and magnetic fields outside the body, which may interfere with the operation of pacemakers in the body. Capsule endoscopy also has certain risks for patients with dysphagia, because capsule endoscopy is relatively larger than ordinary capsules. People with dysphagia may not swallow capsule endoscopy, or even show suffocation. Such patients are also recommended to be cautious.
