High urine sugar must be diabetes?

Committed to your health journey.
Elevated urine glucose is not necessarily diabetes, for those patients with low renal glucose threshold, such as the elderly, pregnant women and some special groups, they may show a drop in renal glucose threshold and show elevated urine glucose, but blood sugar levels are normal, this time is not diagnosed with diabetes. For most people, if the urine sugar is elevated, it is likely to show diabetes. At this time, it is necessary to check the blood sugar level. If necessary, you can check the glycosylated hemoglobin and glucose tolerance test. Basically, you can make a clear diagnosis. If there are obvious symptoms of dry mouth, polydipsia, and polyuria, you can definitely diagnose diabetes by detecting a fasting blood sugar greater than or equal to 7.0mmol/L. If there is no such symptom, it is necessary to test the fasting blood glucose twice greater than or equal to 7.0mmol/l, or to do a glucose tolerance test for two hours with blood glucose greater than or equal to 11.1mmol/l, which can clearly diagnose diabetes.
