Congenital eye amblyopia will not be inherited

Congenital amblyopia itself is not inherited, but the causes of congenital amblyopia may be inherited.

Congenital amblyopia is mostly caused by monocular strabismus, high ametropia, anisometropia, etc. Among them, high ametropia has certain genetic properties. When someone in the family has high ametropia, the incidence of congenital amblyopia is higher than that of normal people. When high ametropia is inherited, it will increase the incidence of congenital amblyopia.

If there is a history of high ametropia or family history, vision examination should be performed regularly to observe the visual health status.
