Acupuncture can not cure depression.

Depression is a kind of depressive disorder, usually characterized by persistent depression and loss of interest. It is generally related to biochemical, neuroendocrine, neuroimmunologic, electrophysiological and psychosocial factors. Acupuncture stimulates specific acupoints of the body, such as Zusanli, Sanyinjiao and Baihui, to achieve the purpose of regulating qi and blood and relieving emotions. Therefore, acupuncture can only be used to relieve the symptoms caused by depression, and can not remove the causes of depression, so acupuncture generally can not cure depression.
