The difference between melanoma and mole

The difference between melanoma and nevus is mainly in different shapes, colors, sizes, and changes.

1. The shape of nevus

is usually regular, round or oval; the shape of melanoma is irregular, and the edges may be irregular, notched, or serrated.

2. The

color of nevus is often uniform, mostly tan, black, and other single colors; the color of melanoma is usually uneven, and may be mixed with a variety of colors, such as black, brown, red, white, and even blue.

3. The size of nevus is

generally small, usually less than 6 mm in diameter; melanoma may be larger, and the diameter continues to increase.

4. The change of

nevus is usually stable for a long time without obvious change; melanoma will appear in a short period of time obvious changes, such as rapid increase, color change, surface bulge, itching, rupture, bleeding, etc.
