Bile duct dilatation is cancer, what is bile duct dilatation disease

Building bridges to better health.
Bile duct dilatation is a disease caused by primary dilatation of the local bile duct.
Bile duct dilatation is a primary bile duct disease, which usually occurs in children. It is mainly manifested as right upper abdominal pain, abdominal mass and jaundice. However, there are many causes of bile duct dilatation, which are usually related to cancer. For example, pancreatic head cancer, periampullary cancer, duodenal cancer, etc. can cause biliary stricture after compression of bile duct, and compensatory dilatation of bile duct located above the distal end of stricture will occur. However, some other diseases, such as cholangitis, biliary stones, chronic pancreatitis and other diseases leading to bile duct stenosis or obstruction, can also cause intrahepatic bile duct expansion performance, so bile duct expansion is not necessarily cancer.
