Atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia

Intestinal metaplasia refers to intestinal metaplasia of gastric mucosa, atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia of gastric mucosa. It usually refers to atrophic lesions in gastric mucosa, accompanied by intestinal metaplasia of gastric mucosa. It is a common result of gastroscopy.

Atrophic gastritis refers to repeated damage of gastric mucosa epithelium leading to atrophy of proper glands, with or without intestinal metaplasia of gastric mucosa and pseudopyloric gland metaplasia. It is generally related to Helicobacter pylori infection and duodenal reflux. Gastric intestinal metaplasia is a pathological diagnosis, which refers to the replacement of normal gastric mucosa epithelial cells by intestinal epithelial cells. It is an important stage before dysplasia and cancer.
