How to treat acute wisdom tooth pericoronitis

Acute wisdom tooth pericoronitis should be treated with antibiotics first. Analgesics can be given to those with severe pain. Normal saline or permanganate solution should be used locally. If abscess has been formed locally, incision and drainage should be made. Antibiotic ointment should be used locally after drainage. For impacted teeth that cannot erupt, they should be removed as soon as possible after acute infection control.
