Bowen's disease of vulva is squamous cell carcinoma in situ of skin. Cancer cells are limited to epidermis and grow slowly. Some patients may transform into invasive squamous cell carcinoma as the disease progresses. The etiology of Bowen's disease of vulva is not clear. Generally, it is related to HPV infection, radiation, immunosuppression and other factors. It can cause skin plaques, scales, itching, pain and other manifestations.
If Bowen's disease of vulva only has skin lesions, it can usually be cured after removing skin lesions. If the patient's disease progresses more seriously and is accompanied by visceral metastasis, the prognosis is poor.
