Plasmodium and granuloma are not the same disease. Plasmodium
is a non-bacterial infectious mastitis, mainly due to the obstruction and expansion of the mammary ducts. Granulomatous mastitis is a special type of mastitis characterized by granulomatous inflammation in the breast tissue accompanied by the formation of centrilobular abscesses.
Although plasmodium and granulomatous mastitis are both types of mastitis, their pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and treatment methods are different. Therefore, careful differentiation is needed in clinical practice in order to take correct treatment measures.
