Small pulmonary nodules refer to round or oval lesions with a diameter of ≤3 cm found in lung imaging. If it is clearly caused by infectious lesions such as pneumonia and tuberculosis, the nodules will usually gradually shrink and disappear as the inflammation subsides after timely anti-infection treatment. However, if it is caused by a neoplastic disease such as pulmonary hamartoma, pulmonary fibroma, or even lung cancer, pulmonary nodules usually do not digest themselves, especially lung cancer, and usually need to be surgically removed in time.
