Lower right lung infection. Pneumonia?

Restoring balance, one patient at a time.
Right lower lung infection is not necessarily pneumonia, may be other lung diseases, need comprehensive judgment.
Right lower lung infection is not necessarily pneumonia, may also be other lung diseases. Pneumonia refers to the terminal airway, alveoli and lung interstitial inflammation, can be caused by pathogenic microorganisms, physical and chemical factors, immune damage, allergies and drugs. Right lower lung infection is an imaging diagnosis, suggesting inflammatory lesions in the right lower lung, but can not determine the cause of infection.
To determine whether right lower lung infection is pneumonia, it needs to be combined with clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, chest imaging and other comprehensive judgment. If the patient has fever, cough, expectoration, chest pain and other symptoms, while white blood cells, C-reactive protein and other inflammatory indicators are elevated, chest X-ray or CT examination indicates inflammatory changes in the lungs, then right lower lung infection is likely pneumonia. However, if the patient has no obvious symptoms, or inflammation indicators are normal, chest imaging examination only indicates a few patchy shadows in the right lower lung, then the right lower lung infection may also be caused by other reasons, such as tuberculosis, lung tumors, lung abscesses, etc.
Inaddition, some special populations, such as the elderly, children, immunocompromised persons, etc., right lower lung infection is more likely to develop into pneumonia, which needs to be paid attention to.
Therefore, right lower lung infection is not necessarily pneumonia, and various factors need to be comprehensively analyzed to make a clear diagnosis and take corresponding treatment measures.
