What is a black line on your nails?

Black lines on nails are mostly benign lesions, seen in nail malnutrition, nail nevus or pigmentation. As the pigment produced at the root of the nail increases gradually with the nail growing outward, patients need to closely observe the nail black lines. If the black lines are unclear or grow too fast, consult a dermatologist.
