Lens implants can take years.

Committed to your health journey.
The age of the implanted lens varies depending on factors such as age and usage. In
general, after a lens is implanted in a child, the lens needs to be removed and replaced in adulthood due to factors such as eye development and vision changes. In contrast, after an adult lens is implanted, the lens has a relatively long service life and can theoretically be used for life if there are no problems such as trauma and intraocular infection. For younger lens recipients, as they age and develop their eyes, the implanted lens may not meet their individual needs. It is necessary to remove the implanted lens after adulthood and replace it with an adult lens. Therefore, the lens implanted in childhood has a relatively short service life.
In order to prolong the service life of the lens, daily maintenance and eye hygiene should be done after implantation to reduce the incidence of eye infection. It is recommended to go to the hospital for regular eye examination to detect and deal with potential problems in time.
