Brachial plexus is composed of anterior branches of cervical 5~ thoracic 1 spinal nerve, which form medial bundle, lateral bundle and posterior bundle around axillary artery, and then send out branches distributed in upper limbs, chest and back, which mainly control sensation and movement of upper limbs. When each part of brachial plexus is damaged, pain occurs within its control range, which is called brachial plexus neuralgia. Brachial plexus neuralgia is divided into idiopathic brachial plexus neuralgia and secondary brachial plexus neuralgia. Idiopathic brachial plexus neuralgia etiology is not clear, any age can be onset, clinical manifestations of acute onset shoulder pain, can involve the back, neck and arms, obvious pain at night, long course of disease can show muscle atrophy, can be accompanied by sensory disorders, mainly affecting the radial side of the shoulder arm, can be bilateral disease, but symptoms, signs and asymmetry.
