Pseudomyopia is not defined medically. It is normally thought to be caused by excessive eye fatigue. When looking at near, the ciliary muscles contract, which can lead to cyclospasm in the long run. When looking at far, the ciliary muscles cannot relax, and when the image still falls on the retina, the object cannot be seen clearly. Pseudomyopia can be eliminated by cycloplegia or eye relaxation to restore cyclospasm.
