Total prostate specific antigen elevation is how to return a responsibility

Building a healthier future, together.
The increase of total prostate specific antigen may be related to prostatitis, prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer.
1. Prostatitis
total prostate specific antigen is usually secreted by prostate epithelial cells and mostly exists in prostate tissue. When the prostate is stimulated by inflammation, it can change the osmotic pressure of prostate tissue, resulting in an increase in total prostate specific antigen, usually mild increase, which will gradually decrease after inflammation control.
2. Benign prostate
hyperplasia Patients with benign prostate hyperplasia can also cause an increase in total prostate-specific antigen due to abnormal prostate function, generally between 4-10ng/ml. It is recommended to further take imaging examinations, prostate biopsies, etc. to rule out the possibility of malignant transformation.
3. Prostate cancer
total prostate specific antigen has high tissue and organ specificity, which is the main marker for diagnosis of prostate cancer. If the total prostate specific antigen is increased, more than 10ng/ml, it may be prostate cancer. It is recommended to diagnose prostate cancer through prostate biopsy.
