How to prevent and treat trachoma

Trachoma is a chronic infectious conjunctivitis infected by chlamydia trachomatis. First of all, in terms of prevention, attention should be paid to cultivating good hygiene habits of patients, preventing contact infection and improving the environment, so that trachoma can be effectively prevented. If patients show sand eyes, 0.1% rifampicin eye drops or 0.5% neomycin eye drops should be used locally. Severe cases should be treated with systemic antibiotics, either oral tetracycline or doxycycline.
