What are the characteristics of urinary retention bladder

The characteristics of bladder examination during urinary retention include swelling of suprapubic area, dullness of suprapubic area and poor urination.

1. The

patient with urinary retention due to swelling of suprapubic area due to accumulation of large amount of urine in urine, resulting in excessive bladder swelling, can be found by inspection and palpation.

2. The patient with dullness of suprapubic area

due to large amount of urine in bladder, dullness can be heard and the suprapubic area can be heard when percussion.
