Empowering you to live healthier.
Acute urinary retention in women is caused by urethral stricture, urinary calculi, neuropathy, etc.
1. Urinary stricture
such as congenital urinary stricture, or acquired factors such as surgery, disease, recurrent urinary tract infection, etc., can cause urethral atresia and eventually progress to acute urinary retention.
2. Urinary calculi such
as upper urinary tract stones and bladder stones may block the bladder outlet and become embedded in the urethra, causing acute urinary retention.
3. Neuropathy such
as central, peripheral neuropathy or pelvic surgery may damage the sensory function of the bladder, information pathways, etc., and further promote the brain and spinal cord to fail to obtain bladder filling signals, unable to control contraction and urination as scheduled, resulting in acute urinary retention.
