What are the causes of urachal fistula?

Urachus fistula is a rare condition. It may be caused by congenital failure of urachus. In addition, some patients may be related to urinary tract obstruction. When patients show this condition, they should go to hospital for relevant examination and treatment. The pathogenesis of urachus fistula is mainly as follows: during embryonic development, the bladder descends from the urachus along the anterior abdominal wall, and during the descending process, the urachus descends from the urachus to the top of the bladder. In late embryonic stage, the urachus is completely occluded and degenerates into the median urachal ligament. If the urachus is completely not occluded, the urachus has a passage communicating with the bladder, it is called urachus fistula.
