Significance of urine three-cup test

The urine three-cup test is a test performed to locate the lesion site when hematuria and urinary tract infections are encountered clinically. First, the vulva and urethral meatus are cleaned. The first 10-20ml of urine is placed in the first cup, the middle 30-40ml in the second cup, and the final 5-10ml in the third cup. If the first cup is abnormal and the degree of abnormality is highest, the lesion site may be in the anterior urethra. The third cup is the highest, and the lesion is in the bladder or posterior urethra. If the three cups of urine are abnormal, the lesion is above the bladder neck, so the significance of the urine three cups test is mainly used for male patients with urinary system infection, through this test to understand the location of inflammation, so give corresponding treatment, but also can judge the location of hematuria, preliminary judgment of hematuria causes.
