Neutrophils are also a type of white blood cells, both of which are elevated physiologically and pathologically. Physiologically, they are more common in strenuous exercise, cold stimulation, showers, or female childbirth. Pathologically, they are common in bacterial infection, trauma, surgery, or massive bleeding, requiring symptomatic treatment.
