Imaging manifestations of ureteral calculi

The imaging examination of ureteral calculi includes X-ray examination, ultrasound examination, CT examination, etc., and the performance of different examination items is also different.

1. X-ray examination

When routine X-ray examination is performed, the ureter on the side with stones may appear calcified.

2. Ultrasound examination

may find unilateral renal pelvis and renal calices dilated. At the same time, for symptomatic kidney, the renal artery resistance index may be greater than 0.7.

3. CT examination

CT examination has the characteristics of high sensitivity, specificity and accuracy. On CT images, edema of ureterovesical junction, perirenal effusion, kidney enlargement, etc. can be found.
