Nursing care of long-term indwelling catheter

Healing with hope, guiding with care.
If the patient has a medical condition that requires a catheter to be retained for a long time, care must be taken with the catheter, as poor catheter care may result in repeated urinary tract infections. It is recommended that patients with long-term urinary catheterization must pay attention to the hygiene of the perineum. At ordinary times, the urinary catheter and urethral orifice must be disinfected at least twice. This can prevent the urethral orifice from showing infection or even retrograde upward, causing infection of other parts and then go to the hospital regularly to replace the urinary catheter. This way, it can effectively prevent adverse reactions caused by long-term retention of the urinary catheter.
