In general, it takes 15-30 minutes to do a vasectomy.

Men need to inject contrast agent before vasectomy, usually about 5 minutes. After injection of contrast agent, it takes about 10 minutes to examine the vas deferens by ultrasound or X-ray, and the overall time is about 15 minutes. However, if the male vas deferens is narrow or there is a space-occupying lesion, the examination time can be extended to 30 minutes.

The contrast agent can usually be excreted through metabolism, so men do not need to worry too much. Daily increase in drinking water, exercise, etc., can speed up metabolism and promote contrast agent excretion.
