AR refers to androgen receptor, prostate cancer AR detection refers to the detection of AR levels in prostate cancer cells to determine whether a patient has cancer.

Prostate cancer AR detection can be detected by immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization and other ways. If the prostate cancer AR test results are positive, it generally indicates that the patient has a greater possibility of prostate cancer, and determines the type and stage of prostate cancer. If the AR expression level in prostate cancer cells is high, it usually indicates that prostate cancer may respond well to hormone therapy. If the AR expression level is low, it may need to be treated with radiotherapy.
