How much residual urine counts as urinary retention

Restoring balance, restoring life.
Generally, residual urine volume greater than 50 ml is considered urinary retention.
Urinary retention refers to the patient's inability to naturally and fully empty urine in the bladder. Its occurrence is mostly related to urethral stricture, cystocele, bladder tumor and other reasons. Under normal circumstances, residual urine volume in the bladder after urination should be less than 5 ml. If residual urine volume in the bladder is greater than 50 ml, it often indicates that the patient has experienced urinary retention.
Patients should pay attention to rest at ordinary times, strengthen warmth, and help reduce residual urine volume in the bladder through regular urination and double emptying methods, which is conducive to recovery.
