Hepatitis B and hepatitis C are infectious diseases. The window period for hepatitis B is generally three weeks to three months after infection, and the longest will not exceed six months. If hepatitis B surface antigen is negative after six months, hepatitis B can be ruled out. The window period for hepatitis C is generally three months to six months. If the test is negative after six months, it means that there is no infection with hepatitis C.
