Symptoms of glaucoma in one eye occur due to progressive optic nerve damage and visual field defects caused by elevated intraocular pressure. Clinically, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors and hypertonic dehydrating agents are mainly used. Laser and external ocular drainage surgery can also be performed if necessary. At the same time, glaucoma in the other eye should be prevented.
