Urethritis usually refers to inflammation of the mucous membrane of the urethra, and the anus is the opening at the end of the rectum. Under normal circumstances, urethritis does not directly infect the anal area.
Urethritis is mainly caused by bacterial, viral or fungal infections. Usually, pathogens enter the urethra through the urethral orifice. Because the urethra and anus are not directly connected, urethritis does not cause anal infection. If the patient has poor hygiene habits, the accumulation of purulent secretions from the urethra may increase the risk of anal infection, but it does not directly cause anal lesions.
