Urinary tract infection can cause prostatitis

Urinary tract infections may cause prostatitis. The

prostate is an important organ in the male reproductive system, located below the bladder and surrounding the urethra. Urinary tract infections are usually caused by bacterial infections, and if untreated, bacteria or other pathogenic microorganisms invade the urethra and spread further to the prostate tissue as the condition worsens.

Symptoms of prostatitis caused by urinary tract infections may include difficulty urinating, frequent urination, urgency, and pain in urination. Prostatitis may also cause sexual problems and other related symptoms.
