Treatment of symptoms of altitude sickness

When altitude sickness occurs, mild cases may develop symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, physical fatigue, and shortness of breath. In severe cases, it may cause high altitude pulmonary edema, with symptoms such as cough, palpitation, difficulty breathing, irritability, and even confusion and coma. If the symptoms are mild, rest more and oxygen inhalation can relieve them. In severe cases, dexamethasone, high-flow oxygen therapy and other treatments can be given.
