Difference between retention and retention

Urinary retention and urinary retention are actually two different names for the same disease. There is no essential difference between the two.

Urinary retention is full of urine in the bladder and cannot be discharged. It is often caused by dysuria to a certain extent. It is mainly caused by mechanical and dynamic obstruction, among which mechanical obstruction is most common, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate tumor, etc.

Urinary retention can be divided into acute and chronic. Acute urinary retention occurs suddenly, and the bladder is full of urine and cannot be discharged. It is very painful and often requires emergency treatment. Chronic urinary retention has a slow onset and a long course. The bladder full of urine can be touched in the lower abdomen, but the patient has no obvious pain.
